The Homeschooling Mother's Journal

In my life this week…we had a wonderful Christmas weekend. We spent Saturday with my folks and Sunday at my Mother-In-Love's. Daughter spent two nights this week with my folks and two nights with my MIL. This gave hubby and I some time alone and we rented three movies from Red Box! We have only watched two, but so far Captain America has been my favorite.

In our homeschool this week…we are off school until January 9th!

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…met some wonderful folks at my MIL's on Sunday. Daughter made two new friends there. We are already making plans to get them together.

My favorite thing this week was…spending time as a family before hubby begins work and will be out of town for a couple of weeks with new employee training.

Things I’m working on…New Year's Resolutions. Yep, I make them every year.

I’m reading…not a whole lot. But I am still reading Mansfield Park and The House of the Seven Gables. Having trouble getting into a reading mood of late.

I’m cooking…up a turkey this weekend and going to make some turkey freezer meals and feed the freezer.

I’m grateful for…God's providence.

I’m praying for…friends who are unemployed and friends who are having difficulties in their marriages. Safe travel for my hubby during his first few weeks of new employee training.

Thanks for stopping by Second Star Academy. Have a great weekend!

Hi Pam

Sounds like a relaxing week :) We are off school till the 9th as well.

New years resolutions sounds good. Good idea in principle but not always in practice :-/ One day I WILL check the boxes. as the saying goes if you aim at nothing you will hit nothing :)

Happy New year to you and your family

Great prayer list. I always loved it when my parents took my kids for a night or two. This has created such a great between the kids and the grandparents, which is essential as they have become teenagers. Of course, now that they are older, instead of them leaving, they bring more kids home with them. We had 7 teenage boys over for a couple of nights. Oh, it was smelly!

That was funny, Beth.
