Time is Short

Time is short, the days are fleeting,
Not one step can I retrace.
Every morn a new day greeting,
Yesterday I can't replace.

Help me, Lord, to do thy bidding,
Help me live each new day through
As I would if life were fading
As the sunset comes to view.
