Menu for week of February 14th


It's our 13th anniversary today! (Monday, February 14th) We are celebrating at home tonight with a Southern Feast and watching hub's favorite movie, Rio Bravo, starring John Wayne! We will go out another night with a gift card to a favorite restaurant that was given to us by very good friends. Tonight the restaurants will be very busy.

Monday, February 14

B-Egg sammies and orange juice
L-leftovers or soup with cheese and crackers
D-Beans and ham bone, fried potatoes, turnip greens, cornbread, french vanilla cake with red frosting for Valentine's Day

Tuesday, February 15

B-cereal and milk, banana
L-leftovers
D-FM-Lasagna roll-ups, green veggie

Wednesday, February 16

B-Oatmeal and toast, orange juice
L-PB&J and apple slices
D-Chili

Slow Cooker Chili

2 lb. ground beef (I'm going to use one pound of ground chicken and some sausage)
2 cans kidney or pinto beans, rinsed and drained or homemade (I'm going to use leftover pintos that I cooked on Monday)
2 cans diced tomatoes, undrained
8 oz. tomato sauce
2 medium onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 T chili powder
2 t. salt
1 t. pepper

In skillet, brown beef, drain. Transfer to crock pot and add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high 3-4 hours. Makes 10 servings.


Thursday, February 17

B-Eggs, sausage and biscuits, orange juice
L-Leftovers
D-Grilled cranberry dump chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, green bean casserole

Friday, February 18

B-Pancakes with chocolate chips, banana
L-Sammies
D-Roast chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy , baby carrots (Free Earth Fare Meal), salad, rolls

Saturday, February 19

B-Egg sammies, orange juice
L-Chicken noodle soup (made from carcass from yesterday), cheese and crackers
D-Freezer pizza, salad

Sunday, February 20

B-Oatmeal with blueberries
L-Smoked sausage, potatoes and green beans in the Crock Pot, cornbread
D-C.O.R.N.
